Professional Experience
Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB)
Chirag served for over 23 years at the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), including about a decade at its Head Office in Gandhinagar as Divisional Head. During this tenure, he played a strategic role in regulatory modernization and institutional reform initiatives.

Convener for the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and Pilot Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)

He has also served as Senior Technical Advisor with GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (Germany), supporting international cooperation programs in environmental governance and climate policy.
Chirag has participated at Stockholm+50, Sweden (2022); COP28, Dubai (2023); INC 4, Canada (2024) and COP30, Brazil (2025) amongst many international events on environment, sustainability and climate change attended by him.
